Living with only his father in the forests on Naboo for many years, Norton was taught the keys to survival by his father. Living in a small house, they had plently of resources to live off of. His father had made the small house into a technological sanctuary. All be it a very rusty one. Norton was taught how to maintain machines to keep the place up and running at all times in case his father was ever gone in a time of emergency. That time came at the age of 16, his father got up in the middle of the night, pack his things and left. Norton spent the next 2 years using all the skills his father had taunt him, from fishing, to hunting, to machine repair. Then on 2 years to the day of his fathers absence, a man knocked on the door. He said only "You have a powerful future, take this." and handed Norton a box. "You'll know what to do from here." Then, the man was gone as fast as he came. Inside the box was a lightsaber. "You've got to be kidding." were the first words to escape his mouth. He left the box in a closet of the house, ignoring it for over a year. Finally after he could bear the mystery no longer. He packed his things, shut off the household appliances, took all the money he had, and went to find a ride to the Jedi Temple. He hopes to find out if this is all just some big joke from a crazy old man, or is it something more?
